01Agreement

By using Dessau Clock you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the app and delete it.

02Licence

You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use one copy of the app on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules of the App Store. The app is licensed to you, not sold.

03Free and Pro

The app is free to download and free to keep. Without any purchase you have one complete clock — the dial, printing, hands, bezel, escapement and tick sound the app ships with — with no advertising, no time limit and no interruption. It does not expire and it never will.

Dessau Clock Pro unlocks the rest: every dial plate and themed clock, every material, printing programme, hand set, second hand, finish, bezel and escapement, every tick pack and night glow, and two clocks running side by side. Dials added in future updates are included at no further cost.

04Lifetime unlock terms

Pro is offered one way: a single lifetime payment. The price is shown in your local currency on the purchase screen before you commit, and is set by us within Apple's price tiers.

The lifetime unlock is a one-off purchase with nothing to renew and nothing to cancel. It is tied to the Apple Account that bought it, can be used on the devices that account owns, and can be brought back with About → Restore Purchase.

For a short time at launch, Pro was also offered as an auto-renewing monthly subscription. If you started one, it still unlocks everything, and it renews automatically at the end of each period unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours beforehand, in App Store settings — while it is active there is a shortcut in About → Manage Subscription. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

05Payment and refunds

All payments are taken by Apple, not by us. We cannot see your payment details and cannot issue a refund. Refund requests are handled by Apple under the App Store Terms of Sale, at reportaproblem.apple.com.

If a purchase is refunded — or a subscription from the launch window lapses — the extra dials close again and the app returns to the free clock. Nothing you have set is thrown away beyond that — the free clock is simply what is drawn until the app is unlocked once more.

06What you may not do

You may not copy, redistribute or sell the app; rent or sublicense it; reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble it except where that right cannot be excluded by law; remove any notice of ownership; or use it to break the law.

07Timekeeping

The app reads the clock and time zone database of the device it runs on. It is a display, not a time source: it is not synchronised to an atomic reference, it does not correct your device's clock, and it can be wrong if your device's date, time or time zone is wrong.

Do not rely on it where accuracy matters — navigation, medical dosing, aviation, competition timing, legal deadlines or any other safety-critical or high-consequence use. The tick sound and the escapement styles are dramatisations of mechanical behaviour, not a measurement of it.

08Sound, haptics and your ears

The app can tick continuously. Please set the volume to a comfortable level, particularly with headphones. If a ticking sound bothers you, or the pulsing glow of the night face is uncomfortable, both can be turned off in Settings.

09Batteries and screens

Running a clock on screen — especially with Keep Screen Awake on — uses power, and on any display showing a mostly static image for very long periods can contribute to image persistence.

To reduce that, the whole face drifts continuously across a few points of screen, far too slowly to see, so no edge of the dial rests on the same pixels all night. It reduces the risk; it does not remove it. Image persistence is a property of the hardware, and a clock left running for days still asks more of a screen than most apps do.

10Design, names and homage

The dials, printing programmes, hands, materials and motifs in this app were designed and drawn for it, and belong to its author. You may screenshot and share your own dials freely.

The app is an homage to a school and an era of industrial design. Names such as Bauhaus, and the designers and manufacturers whose work informed it, are referenced descriptively and historically. The app is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to any institution, museum, estate, foundation, manufacturer, sports league, club or governing body. All trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.

11Third-party components

The app includes third-party components — a typeface, and the RevenueCat SDK that counts purchases — listed with their licences under Acknowledgements. Those licences continue to govern those components. What RevenueCat receives, and why, is set out in the Privacy Policy.

12No warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. To the extent any warranty cannot be disclaimed, it is limited to the shortest period permitted by law.

13Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the author is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, profit, appointment, sleep or opportunity arising from your use of the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.

14Apple

Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support for the app. Apple is not responsible for the app or any claim relating to it, including product liability, legal-compliance and intellectual-property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

15Termination

This licence ends if you stop complying with these terms, and ends in any case when you delete the app.
